A fake smile
The ignorance of hope
The pain of rejection
Something so perfect
Enveloped in a pitfall of darkness
Fate brings you together
And fate tears you apart
The cruelty of love
The apathy of affection
The lies we tell ourselves
To comfort our aching souls
Days go by
In the blink of an eye
If only the ignorance of hope
Was such a fleeting thing.
