Twice Broken, Always Forgotten

Twice Broken, Always forgotten
In the midst of my despair
You found me
Was at the bottom
And you lifted me up
Made me hopeful
Made me believe
In my moment of weakness
In the time of my vulnerability
You grabbed a hold of me
Felt safety in your arms
Thought I was ok
The healing began
Swept me off my feet
Gave me the strength to carry on
Reinvigorated my soul
Out of nowhere
You crushed me
Like a dying flower
You grabbed me by the roots
And ripped me from the ground
Now my soul is cold
Eyes have no life to them
Barely holding on
As I’m falling from cloud nine
The empty shell left behind
Of the woman you once loved
Shattered into pieces
Blood dripping from my fingers
As I try to put them back together
Don’t know where to start
Don’t know where the end is
How do you put them back together
When you have no idea how they were assembled from the start?
