The
Fool
Life
is so much easier
From
the outside looking in
So
much easier to run away
Than
to finish what you began.
You
look in the mirror
And what
do you see?
A
fool standing before you
Full
of pain and misery.
Your
heart used to be
So wild
and free
And
now it’s just us
Just
you and me.
You
see what you want
You
believe what you hear
Your
guilt becomes anger
When
it’s really only fear.
You are
a fool for believing
Your
own lies
You
cling to the hope
That
you can break all ties.
The
fool in you grows
Day by
day
Because
you feel justified
In going
astray.
Your
friends and family
Pretend
to care
They
pretend to support you
But they
won’t be there.
You
keep believing
You are
in control
But you
are only a fool
The
truth lies within your soul.
