Into The Shadows:
You feel your heart beating
Slow and methodical
You stand before the beast
The demon who tortures your soul
You've met so many times before
And yet the creature lives on
Its eyes are as black as night
As they stare into your soul
And you know
This time will be different
The beast's power has grown
Despite your best efforts
The hatred drips from its being
Destroying everything it touches
The hatred covers your soul
Second by second
You see the parts that you love
Being destroyed
It covers you like volcanic ash
Wrecking everything beautiful inside of you
You can see your pain reflected in it's soulless eyes
Facing yourself in a way you never have before
You see every moment of your life
You hear everything that has ever been said before
And for the first time
You accept it as truth
The demon has defeated you
You are simply not strong enough for this battle
You cannot do it anymore
The fire in your soul has been extinguished
There is just nothing left
And slowly
You disappear into the shadows
Never to return again
