A lost innocence
A little girl
Trapped in the real world
All alone
She tries to survive
She hears the rain hitting the
windows
And she thanks the universe for being

Confusion consumes her soul
Why this life?
What did she do to deserve this?
She stays brave
For the innocence around her
She stays strong
That is her role in life
Ultimate protector
She’d make any sacrifice
Just to make it through the day
She hid away her pain
She forced away her anger
Because she knew,
One day she would escape
Enveloped in a world of anger and
abuse
She fought through it
She concentrated on the light at the
end of the tunnel
She learned the lessons no child ever
should
She made it through a life that most
others never could
And through it all,
The physical and emotional scars,
In a world of impossible expectations
And unrealistic dreams,
She stands before you,
